Treat Acne At Home
Acne is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become plugged with dead skin cells and oil from sebaceous glands. This results into areas of blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and greasy skin. Some pimples heal while others crop up and this may even lead to scarring. Acne is most common in teenagers and adolescents age groups. Why is it important to treat acne as early as possible? Because as the acne clears out, without treatment, it leaves behind dark spots and permanent scars to skin that lead to emotional distress. Now, learn to treat acne at home with simple tips rather trying expensive acne treatments.
Wash Your Face with Gentle Cleanser
Wash your face with luke-warm water and some mild beauty soap, not antibiotic soap. Do this twice a day. Do not over-wash your face as it may irritate the facial skin by eliminating essential minerals and compound from your skin. And it leads to over-expression of oil from sebaceous glands and it is one of the factors that causes acne.
Use Finger Tips to Apply Cleanser Not Mesh Sponge
One thing is important to remember, use only your fingertips to apply some cream or cleanser to your skin especially facial skin. Use of mesh sponge, wash cloth, plastic sticks, and any other article can irritate the skin.
Watch While Touching Your Face
Do not often touch your face. Keep your hair off your face and keep them clean. Resting your hand often on your face imparts dust, germs, and flares up your skin. Tight head wears like hats, scarfs lead to sweating and this may impose a problem. As sweating is the cause of acne.
Be aware of alcohol based beauty products. Any oily and greasy cosmetics, hairstyle products, astringents, exfoliants, and toners can irritate your skin and aggravate your acne condition. If you are to use some beauty products, use only that are noncomedogenic (less likely to cause acne) and are water based (alcohol-free).
Don’t Pick Blemishes or Squeeze Pimples
You feel helpless to see pimples or blemishes and pick, pop or squeeze to get rid of. I agree, but it will cause the skin to heal longer and can even cause infection. So there are more chances of acne scar. Let’s not do it.
Stay Out of Direct Sun Light
If you are using an acne medicine, you need to stay out of direct sunlight. Some acne medications make your skin very sensitive to UV rays present in direct sunlight. The same way, you need to avoid any indoor source of UV rays like the oven, tanning beds etc.
Use Oil Free Moisturizer
You should use oil-free moisturizer if your skin is dry and red. Stop scrubbing your skin and avoid facial masks. Excessive use of facial scrub can irritate the skin. One thing more is to be gentle while shaving affected area if you have acne.
Homemade healing masks hydrate the skin so should be applied twice a week. Many combinations are available but try honey and yogurt mask. Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 1 tablespoon of yogurt. Now apply to your face especially where acne is more pronounced. Take rest for 10 mins and then gently wipe off the mask with a clean cloth.
Toning Your Skin
Toning your skin is helpful in removing any residue after cleansing and it restores natural integrity of the skin. You can use apple cider vinegar as the toning agent in the morning and evening. Use the cotton ball to apply apple cider vinegar over your skin. Pay more attention to affected area.
Homemade Face Wash
You should try homemade face wash to get rid of blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. The recipe is to mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, 3 tablespoons of honey, and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Now dampen you face with warm water and massage for a minute. Now apply homemade face wash, rinse well and pat dry. Wash with warm water after 10-15 minutes and dry with air. Do not use a towel, but, toning your skin now is the best idea.
